Thomas Jennings Fawkner arrived into Maine app 1862 b 1841 Clovelly Devon

Married Annie Mc Bride from Ireland in Machias Maine 1875[familysearch]

First daughter Lilly {mary ELizabeth] shows up as being born in Boston 1972 on board the S.S,China entering Boston 1876{ From M.A Archives] coming from WHERE?

NO birth M.A for the above 

Margareta born Portland Maine 1875.[familysearch]

From then on I have lost this family

Believe that Annie may have died also Margareta  befor 1879 somewhere?

They do not seem to be on any more census and Lilly is back in Falmouth on the 1881 census for Cornwall 

Thomas while there learnt to be a deep sea diver ,

Any ideas welcome

Must have been important to get to Boston for a lady in her late stages of pregnancy, eh?  If it had been a sailing ship, I might have thought Thomas was a sea captain and took his family.  But a steamship?   Maybe the birth didn't get recorded in MA because it was onboard vessel?  Maybe listed at Portland ME or in that area?

Time consuming, I know, but what about searching manifests of ships going back to England?  Using a variety of Fawkner/Faulkner etc spellings.
