Pembroke (Maine) Families by Lincoln as well as The History of the Town of Hingham Massachusetts by George Lincoln are a must for Hersey records.

Mr Hersey I see info on a Aurthur R and Bernice Laura Hersey and family on the 1940 Eastport census for Ward 4 at 6 Franklin St Shortly after 1940 the Sullivan family moved to #6 from across the street. I have an image of that census page.

I have a picture of Fred Hersey taken in Maine, he was born 23 May, 1865, in Pembroke, ME.  He married Abigail McDonald, born 1840, died 1860.  Abigail's parents are Harriet Benson born 1798 in Cutler, Maine, died 03 Oct, 1884 in Grand Harbour, Grand Manan, Charlotte Co., NB and Patrick McDonalad b 11 Feb, 1803 in Schubenacadie, NS, died 18 July 1875 in Grand Manan, Charlotte, NB.

I don't have your Hersey, have Calders and Herseys, and most of the Hersey's were in Pembroke, Maine having moved there with the Hingham Militia settlers at Pembroke's inception. Martin Hersey  was an early Historian of the area. Probably, if your family came for Grand Manan, they moved there from Pembroke. You mention an Arthur R. Hersey and Bernice Calder. I have both Calders an Hersey's in my file. I don't have your Arthur but do have an Arthur B. Hersey (born 1873 son of Azor Howard Hersey) ; have Calders but not Bernice. The Calders I have were from Deer Island, NB. Missed Bernice however. What I have is probably your family. I just don't have that branch.
