Would like to know if this was their usual attire or were they attending a funeral or other ceremony??

The RR had such an effect on the movement of family lines, in small moves and large.  I've followed families from

NB to Vanceboro , Brownville and Greenville ME.  I imagine others got jobs and took their families clear across the continent.

RIP, Serena.  I loved your stories of growing up in Maine and Canada.
