Researching Downeast Maine and Maritime Canada Families Together
Frank William Titcomb was born 3 November 1837 at Exeter, Maine, the son of Elias and Sarah (Dow) Titcomb of the Corinna/Exeter area.
His paternal grandparents were William and Elizabeth (Tukey) Titcomb. I haven't yet found the parents of Sarah Dow, if indeed Dow is her maiden name.
Frank William Titcomb was a veteran of the Civil War and was involved with the GAR.
On 5 March 1874, Frank married Clara Ellen Ray, who was born 24 September 1852 at Dover, Maine, the daughter of Heman A. and Rachel (Perham) Ray, who were born at Rumford, Maine, and Bowerbank, Maine, respectively.
Frank became a lumberman and sawmill owner. He operated a store at Houlton, Maine. His name appeared as a landowner over several pages in the 1887 tax assessor's book of Smyrna, Maine. See a blog post about that book here and a page containing scans of the pages on this network here.
The couple had three children that I could find:
The Maine Memory Network has a photograph of Frank William Titcomb.
