Comment by S. R. Chambers on January 15, 2012 at 11:14am Geo. A (Scotchie) MacDonald was born in Grand Lake Stream, Maine. He and his parents lived in the house on Water Street (now the Sprague House). It has been said that he was the first white child born in the village. I have a picture of him as does the GLS Hist. Society. His daughter was named Harriet after grandmother. She married Richard Pomeroy. They lived in Calais. Both are deceased. Scotchie worked for the lumber companies and in later years moved to Calais, Maine and worked for the City. I think on roads?
Hope this give you another avenue to search. Good Luck
