Researching Downeast Maine and Maritime Canada Families Together
Alice Weaver Haskell was born 12 April 1883, at Deer Isle, Maine, the daughter of Jasper Webster Haskell and his wife Martha Flavilla (Haskell) Haskell. Her paternal grandparents were Aaron Stickney Haskell and wife Margaret H. McDaniel Atwood Haskell. Her maternal grandparents were Albert and Irene Young (Haskell) Haskell. There were many, many Haskells in the area, so her lines aren't as close as they sound.
The reason I started researching Alice Weaver Haskell is that I had found a photograph of a young Alice Haskell, taken by a photographer in Bangor, Maine. I did find an Alice Haskell living at Bangor, but with Bangor being a commercial center for shopping, education and employment in much of Maine, I couldn't necessarily give the Bangor Alice Haskell any extra points.
So be aware that the young woman in the photograph below may not be the Alice Haskell discussed above. Hopefully, at some point, someone will recognize her and notify me.
